Sceptics: World's largest graphics accelerator could destroy planet Earth

Graphics accelerator manufacturer ATI and European Organization for Nuclear Reserch CERN, are planning to start their newly developed super-high-speed graphics accelerator LHC (Large Hyperpolygon Calculator) on 10th of October 2008 at Sunnyvale, California.

This world's second biggest electronic construction is an enormous 5-mile wide construction between 150 to 500 feet underground. (The honour of being the biggest computing construction ever made, is still held by the Internet.)

The accelerator will be used in research of universe, and scientists are expecting it to revolutionise the science. It will produce not only realistic, but even surrealistic images in real time for researchers to study and relax with.

The sceptics, however, fear that this powerful graphics accelerator will eventually destroy the planet Earth by creating conditions that have never existed since the Big Bang. According to some experts, there are in fact some real threats involved in such a powerful graphics accelerator.

The biggest fear between sceptics is that the accelerator generates so realistic picture, that it actually becomes alive. If such incident happens during an intense session of Half-Life 2 or Doom 3, the monitor would turn into a port to another world.

CERN scientists reassue: LHC is completely safe when all the precautions are taken in consider. The device will not create stable monsters by it's own. It is true, that at times, the display can turn into a port to another dimension, but due to RPG-radiation, the polygons that come out of the port, vanishes in just seconds.
